Daring Cardmakers - Initial Thoughts

I think we've all had our thinking caps on this week at Daring Cardmakers. Rein has set the Dare as follows:-

"The First Letter"
I'd like you to put things on your card which begin with the first letter of your name.
You can use other things too, but see if you can use at least 3 things that share their initial letter with your own name.

For example my name is Rein so I could use rose, robot, radio, raven...

I just can't believe what the rest of the DT have come up with as there are some very tricky initial letters amongst them. I think I was one of the lucky ones with the initial L. Pop on over and have a look and then see what you can come up with - it really is a lot of fun!

My Card:-

There's Lots of Dots on the background and I've stamped some Lime Green Leaves over them.
I made the Ladybugs using a selection of circle punches (very easy) and added a couple of dots for the eyes. I Stamped and cut out some Leaves, made a Loveheart using Nestabilities and added some Liquid Pearls to decorate. Finally I made a Lovebugs Label using my Letraset Labelmaker!

I think I got the L word covered.

If I had really thought about it before putting everything together on this card I think I would have punched out a few small black lovehearts and put them on the Ladybugs wings instead of the little black circles - just to add a bit more to the love theme. I think that would have worked.

DCM - Scraplings

This week it's Paula's first time to set a Dare over at Daring Cardmakers and what a fabulous theme she has chosen!

Scraplings

Scraplings are little narrow cards made from scrap cardstock. You know how when you make a card from a a piece of A4 or Letter sized cardstock you're left with an off-cut? Well that's the basis of a Scrapling. When folded in half, the Scrapling's card front will measure roughly 2 1/2" x 4 1/4" , though this depends of course on the size of card you were making in the first place!

So, dig out your scraps and make either a card or a gift tag!

Here's mine:-

Dolly's Christmas Tree Decoration

Hi I just had to post a picture of my Christmas Tree Decoration that I made following Dolly's fabulous tutorial that you can find here over at Polka Doodles. It is so easy to follow and so easy to make too and you can decorate it just as you please. I would have entered it into the Polka Doodles challenge for this week but unfortunately I forgot to use a Stamp on it so it wouldn't be accepted - Nikki is such a stickler for the rules lol. But never mind I had such fun making it! Thanks Dolly!

Papers are from Polka Doodles Jingle Jangle CD
with the addition of Stickles Glitter Glue and Card Candy from Craftwork Cards.

This is the sketch created by Anne:-

I've used the same image as I did on the card 2 posts ago so it just goes to show how versatile stamping can be... and if you love the image why not use it over and over again!
