August 1st marks Girlfriend's day - a day to celebrate that very special friend in your life, and Sister's day just happens to fall on August 2nd.

So the choice is yours, you can make a lovely card to give to your best friend, or send something to your sister - or maybe your best friend is like a sister to you, she could even actually be your sister! ;o)

Daring Cardmakers - Layer it Up

I'm back from spending a fantastic 5 days in Robin Hoods Bay on the East Coast. We stayed in the best B&B ever - Birtley House - so if you ever want to visit this lovely village I can truly recommend it. The bed is the most comfortable one I've ever slept in away from home and the breakfast really sets you up for the day. There's a great selection of cereals, juices, a tray of dried fruit and seeds, a tray of fresh fruit all nicely prepared and dishes of grapefruit, peaches and prunes - and that's just for starters! Connie makes the largest and most delicious Full English Breakfast I have ever had but if it's too much for you, you can have a selection of whatever you want. Mike really looks after you and is a mine of information about the area and couldn't do enough to make us feel really welcome.

Robin Hoods Bay is at the end of Wainwrights Coast to Coast walk which starts in St Bees on the Cumbrian coast, it's famous for it's rock pools and fossil hunting and it's a very quaint unspoilt coastal village - needless to say - we will be visiting again!

Sneaky Peak

I'm going away for a few days so won't be able to post my card here for Daring Cardmakers this coming Friday - my post options aren't letting me schedule they have 'Reader Comments' options only - if anyone can throw any light on what I haven't got set up correctly then I'd be more than pleased for any suggestions.

Daring Cardmakers - We are Sailing...

I am so happy this week - our lovely Vanessa has chosen a Dare that I really really love:-

This week, (just in time for the wind and rain, if the weather here and the coming forecast is anything to go by!) Can I once again apologise for my lack of blogging lately - I've had a couple of weekends away and have had other family commitments but last Tuesday I started with a very bad chest infection and head cold so haven't really been in the mood to do anything. The antibiotics seem to be kicking in now so hopefully I'll be feeling much better very soon!
