Back to Basics

I've made this card for this week's Dare over at Daring Cardmakers.  The theme is Back to Basics and we have to use the 3 primary colours Blue, Yellow and Red - not the easiest of combinations but I'm pretty pleased with my attempt and I really love using these quirky character stamps from Stampotique.

Buddha's Birthday

Lythan's choice of Dare this week on Daring Cardmakers is Buddha's Birthday.  I've always struggled with the oriental theme so as I'm back creating I couldn't resist the challenge.  It's just a simple card and even though the banners for the birthday sentiment shouldn't really fit I think I can get away with it hahaha.

Penny Black 'Birthdays'

I'm having a fun crafting day as I'm looking after a friend's dog while they're at a wedding.  So I thought I'd make a card for another challenge.  This time it's for Penny Black and More who have the theme 'Birthdays'.  I've used Stickeroos for this one as I love these fabulous frogs.  They are so versatile and fun.

Helloooo..... I'm still crafting

Daring Cardmakers - (What's the Story) Morning Glory.....

It's the first Friday of the month so that means it's time for the Daring Cardmakers Flower of the Month Dare. September's flowers are the Aster or Morning Glory.

Here's my 'Aster' card:-

Self Adhesive Pearls

For the Main Aster Flowers I used Plain White Pearlescent Paper from Craftwork Cards and coloured it with Copics. Cut strips of paper and fold in half long ways and then snip along the length of the paper towards the fold without cutting through the fold. Then roll and glue along the bottom as you go along. The yellow centre is obviously just a narrower strip than the rest of the flower. When you've rolled the flower and the glue has set simply shape by pulling the petals downwards.
