Sweet Meadow

Here's the cards I made with this month's Project of the Month from Craftwork Cards - the paper collection is called Sweet Meadow - very apt because it contains the sweetest of papers - they're very romantic and so so pretty.

The first card is a very simple easel card - I didn't have to do much with this one has the papers have done all the work for me. I've just added the bunting, lace, butterflies and sentiment to the main part.

Here you can see how I've added Card Candi underneath of the decorative strip and self adhesive pearls to the top.

I love cards with a main focal image so Warren was the perfect one for this card. I love the delicate florals surrounding Warren so this one really worked well with the papers.

How simple is this next card! Just three layers of the roses that have been cut from the decorative papers and the addition of a message.
I've saved my favourite card 'til last. These papers were just screaming Wedding to me so this romantic Lili of the Valley image and the gorgeous Prima roses were the perfect 'match' for the more muted colours of this dp. The photograph really doesn't do the card justice and you can't see the beautiful embossing on the fabulous paper either.

If you'd like more inspiration the rest of the Design Team have been busy with the same set of papers so why not pop on over to Craftwork Cards Blog to see what they've all been making.

*****

We're all really excited too as Craftwork Cards have been invited to join up with Spellbinders in their Cross Promotional Partnership to get creative with their Card Candi and Spellbinders Dies.

The DT have been sent a selection of dies to work with as well as being able to use any other spellbinders dies they already own to create cards and other projects for inspiration. We can even use any of the products from the other Cross Promotional Partners too so I'm raiding my stash to see what else I can add to the pile!

There will be lots of inspiration added to Craftwork Cards Blog over the coming weeks and there'll also be the chance of winning some Spellbinders dies too!

Right I'm off to make myself a cuppa now - I'm not used to doing these mega posts - hope you all kept up with me lol and thanks for looking in.

Daring Cardmakers - Something Old, Something New

This week has been a really hectic one to say the least which resulted in me not being able to visit most of my lovely friends in blog land - I'm hoping that I'll be able to get round to see you all very soon.

...and it really doesn't seem like a whole week has flown past since our last Dare over at Daring Cardmakers - it's Friday again so another challenge has been set by our lovely Lythan as follows:-
This week there is a homage to my (Lythan) sister in laws wedding. Erica and Terry celebrate their marriage in a few weeks time and in honour of that I would like you to interpret the wedding rhyme
"Something old,
something new,
something borrowed
and something blue"
So use some old and new stash and if you can include the borrowed and blue as well that would be awesome. And do tell us what is what as we are nosy like that! (well I am)

Here's my card:-

OLD:-
Image and Sentiment Stamps by Stampendous
Coloured with Promarkers
Leaf, Oval and Scallop Oval Punches
Stickles Glitter Glue

NEW:-
Lace - The Ribbon Reel which was kindly donated to the team for a previous Dare
Spellbinders Beaded Square Die
Prima Roses
Papers - Magnolia
Card Stock and Card Candi - Craftwork Cards

BLUE:-
Blue Flower - Wild Orchid Crafts

Sadly I didn't have anything Borrowed :-(

Well I think the forecast is for some sunshine over the weekend so whatever you're up to I hope you enjoy it. I'm sure it'll lift the spirits after the gloomy weather we've been having of late.

Rosie-Dee's Challenge - Wedding Theme

As I had to make a Wedding card for a friend I thought I might as well share it with you and also enter it in the Rosie-Dee's Challenge this week. It's the first time I've entered anything here so I hope you don't mind. I have popped over a few times to have a look when I've visited Dolly's, Brenda's and Saskia's blogs and I love it. I might have to make a regular visit - who knows!

Anyway this is my card:-

Papers - Basic Grey 'Wisteria' collection
Old Cardboard
Heart stamp I think it is Fancy Pants (but I'm not sure)
Adage Ticket - Tim Holtz
Card Candy
Flowers, Ribbon and Brad from stash
Computer Generated Sentiment

I tried to incorporate the sentiment into the card as follows:-

Something Old - cardboard
Something New - papers and embellishments
Something Borrowed - the design of a card I made previously...
Something Blue - papers and flower
