Having a ME day!

I haven't entered any challenges lately that haven't been DT related so I thought it was time I had a little 'Me' day and I've made 3 cards for 3 challenges:-

I saw this sketch on Carol's blog and just fell in love with the simplicity so had to have a play with this one.

Second is for Carol's Sketch Fun:-

(Another fabby sketch Carol)

and last but not least

For Cupcake Craft Challenges who want to see cards for FRIENDS:-

I've had such a good time - thanks for stopping by and having a peek.

Edited to add:- Jan has asked how I made the flowers on the above card
I used 3 punches and core-dinations Great white cardstock

McGill 2 1/8" Floriano
I can't remember where I got mine from but I found this link -
http://www.art-of-craft.co.uk/acatalog/McGill_Punches.html

Martha Stewart - Cornflower (coloured with Copics)

Small Circle

I then added Polar White Flower Soft.

They remind me of Christmas Roses so I can see a few of them being used on my Christmas Cards from now on lol.

Cupcake Craft Challenge 60 - Thanks a Bunch

Over at Cupcake Craft Challenges this week the theme is "Thanks a Bunch"

My card:-

Main image is from Popcorn the Bear "Thanks a Bunch" set from Crafter's companion. This stamp is also a lot bigger than you think. There's not much room left for anything else so I've simply coloured the image with Copics and attached a second layer of flowers with silicone glue. I matted and layered onto Bazzill Card Stock and added a Melissa Francis Rub-On and then finished off by adding Stickles glitter glue to the flowers.

The challenge this week over at Cupcake Craft Challenges is to make......

Cupcake Challenge #53 - Something Sweet and 1st Birthday Celebration

A Great Big Happy 1st Birthday to Cupcake Challenge and to celebrate the theme this week is:-

"SOMETHING SWEET"
There is also an optional extra to include a CUPCAKE on your creation!

There's loads of candy on offer too and a Blog Hop with lots of extra prizes up for grabs if you care to join in.

I've used the brand new Cupcake Stamps from Craftwork Cards - absolutely gorgeous they are. I cut each one out and coloured them with Copics and added stickles. I cut the white scallop circle using Nestabilities and the brown one was cut on my QuicKutz Silhouette. Rub-on letters are from WH Smith, the flowers from a swatch book by Creative Imaginations. Background paper from Yummy Scrummy Collection also from Craftwork Cards.

Cupcake Craft Challenge 50

This week's challenge at Cupcake Craft Challenges has been chosen by Stephanie. She's not only chosen a colour theme of Green, Pink and Brown she also loves Animals and Flowers so has asked for them to be included too!

This card is mainly made up of scraps left over from other projects. I just love these pink and green papers and I haven't very much left but I will have to try and squeeze something out of what is remaining.

Background is Bazzill Bling
Image is a Penny Black Stickeroo (just love stickeroos)
Flowers cut and punched out of Doodlebug DP
I'm not sure what make the pink DP is - that maybe Doodlebug too but can't be certain.
Other items used are Nestabilities, Martha Stewart Arch Border Punch and Sizzix 12" Swirl Die
Card Candy
Liquid Pearls
Rub On by Pebbles Inc.
Button, Ribbon and flat back pearls from stash

I think I made the Top 5 again for my card last week (Black & White theme) so I'm really thrilled about that and I'm also very pleased that the Challenges are going to continue.

Cupcake Challenge 45 - A Sketch

Oh! I do love a good sketch and this week's challenge at CCC is exactly that - a good sketch.

My card:-

Stamp from Crowns & Castles 7 - Paper Artsy
Copics
Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities
DCWV "Once Upon a Time" Stack
Tim Holtz Idea-ology Adage Ticket
Strip of corrugated card
Gems, Beads, Glitters from stash
Stickles

I stamped the image twice and attached the front 3 towers/turrets with 3d foam. It does looks quite flat on the photograph but it isn't. I really enjoyed glitzing up the old bit of corrugate card too - think it adds to the "fantasy" element of the stamps.

Cupcake Challenge 44 - Father's Day

This week Jeanette has set the challenge at CCC as follows:-

"As it's getting close to Fathers Day I thought a Fathers Day card would be appropriate, but there's a slight twist in that it has to be more than a card. You can interpret that any way you want to. If it's not Fathers Day in your neck of the woods then a card for a Man (any man) will do. Have fun and I can't wait to see your creations."

So Ive made a Gift Case for a CD - all Ive got to do now is create a CD with some favourite songs on it. Might just have to ask for some help on that one lol.

The case does stand on it's own when it rests on the back flap so it can be displayed as a card too!

Cream base card - Craftwork Cards
Papers are from "The Green Stack" from DCWV
Self Adhesive Velcro Fastener
"Dad" cut out on QuicKutz Silhouette
Stamp - "You're the best, Mum" by Inkadinkado (Mum obviously masked out)

I found this tutorial for a CD Case over on Splitcoast Stampers but I didn't want the extra bulk of the card on the outside so I took the basic measurements and my version is made in one piece rather than two.

Cupcake Craft Challenge 43 - Colour Challenge

Ida has set the challenge this week over at Cupcake Craft Challenge Blog - It is a colour challenge and we have to make a card for a kid and it has to incorporate Turquoise, Yellow and Bright Pink.

So I reached for my Patti Picklicious CD and printed out papers that were perfect for this challenge. I punched out several circles and adhered them to the card in a patchwork style and then matted and stitched a square of the yellow dotty paper over them. Stamped image and sentiment is from Lily at the Beach set by Pink Cat Studio, coloured with Copics and matted and layered onto Turquoise Bazzill Bling and card that has been embossed with Swiss Dots Embossing Folder. The letters for "Have a great day" are rub-ons by Doodlebug Design "all mixed up." I layered a few circles and crinkled the edges for the flower type embellishment in the top corner.

Cupcake Challenge #42 - Fairies

This week's challenge has been set by Evelina and the theme is "fairies". All we have to do is have one (or a few) fairies on our card or project.

This was quite a simple card but I love it all the same.

Fairy - Lili of the Valley
Cuttlebug Folders - Swiss Dots and Flower Border
Krylon Silver Leafing Pen
Copics
Gems
Stickles
Lace Ribbon from Dunelm Mill

I used a scrap of green patterned paper and just snipped the edges to make the grass border.

Thanks for looking.

Cupcake Craft Challenge 40 - Sketch

This week the challenge is this lovely sketch designed by Donna:-

And this is my card:-

Stamp - "Agapanthus Cluster" by Stampendous
Papers - K & Co
Textured Cardstock - DCWV
Prima Hydrangeas
Ribbon and Brads from Stash
Stickles Glitter Glue
Computer Generated Greeting

I'm really making an effort to do more stamping lately and I'm so enjoying it even though I do make a right old mess. I tried "misting" the image after I' first stamped it (using a multi-coloured Adirondack ink pad) but it just ran everywhere lol. On the second attempt when I thought I'd cracked it - it just dried all dull and yucky. So in the end I decided to just colour the stamp with my Marvy le Plumes and keep it simple - why make life difficult lol.

Cupcake Craft Challenge #39 - Card for a Man or Boy

This weeks challenge was set by Denise as follows:-

"For my challenge I would like 'a card for a man or boy' - only because everyone dislikes making this type of card so much LOL! It's so easy to make a card for a woman or girl as the embellishments at our disposal are vast but for those tricky men it's not so simple. Definitely what I would call a challenge! I can't wait to see your creations. "

I found this challenge site as I was 'blog hopping' and as my Brother's birthday is looming and he has just been on a cruise I thought this card would be so appropriate for him and just right for the challenge too! The papers and image are all downloaded from Kay Miller Designs "All Aboard" and the font is CK Fun Boxes from Scrap N Fonts which unfortunately has just recently been retired. The ship really does look like it's sailing right out of the front of the card!
